The next presidential election is considered one of the most important in our lifetime and, arguably, in our nation's history. Who we vote for as our next Commander in Chief has significant impact not only in America, but around the globe. We also have pressing concerns on our minds. Will issues like Covid-19, healthcare, unemployment, race relations, the environment, the economy and national security be addressed?|
OPEN TO DEBATE is a performance where audience members are invited to share what they are passionate (or dispassionate) about in this election. We're not actually debating issues. We're inviting audiences to step up to the mic and shape the debate in their own words and voices. In turn, our performers will create an improvised performance based on what is shared.
Village Playback Theatre is an applied theater company committed to underserved and underrepresented individuals and communities and their being seen and heard. Through the use of drama, music, and movement, we invite audiences to share personal experiences which we turn into improvised performances.
The Performers: Alexander Alabin, Federico Mallet, Shlomit Oren, Tasha Paley, Randy Mulder
